A body found in northwest Indiana in May has been identified as a man who was reported missing since February.

Francisco Javier Vargas Perez, of Munster, Indiana, was found in a retention pond at 3209 W. Lincoln Hwy. in Merrillville on May 8, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office. An autopsy determined that he drowned, and his death was ruled an accident.

Perez, 29, had been missing since Feb. 7, the coroner’s office said.

Additional details were not immediately available.
