A 15-year-old boy was shot while sleeping in a home in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side Sunday morning.

About 3:40 a.m., the boy was sleeping in the basement of a home in the 6000 block of South Wood when someone fired a shot through the first floor, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, police said.
