A 17-year-old boy was shot Sunday night in the Belmont Central neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

At 9:13 p.m., the boy was walking in the 2300 block of North Monitor, when someone in a white van fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the left calf and taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
