Police are cautioning residents of Wicker Park, Humboldt Park and Avondale after three people were carjacked at gunpoint in recent days.

According to an alert from Area North detectives, the carjackings occurred:

-in the 1400 block of North Wicker Park about 1:53 a.m. on July 22;

-in the 1500 block of North Campbell about 4:30 a.m. on July 23;

-in the 3000 block of North Troy about 1:23 a.m. on July 27.

In each case, one or two men walked up and tried to talk to to a person who was in their vehicle “before displaying a handgun and forcing them out,” police said.
