An elderly woman died Saturday night after a fire in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The fire happened in the 7100 block of South Lowe, according to Chicago Fire Media.

Virsia Banister, 88, suffered burns and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:12 p.m., according to Fire Media and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She lived on the same block as the blaze.

An autopsy Sunday found that she died of inhalation of products of combustion in a house fire, and heart disease was listed as a contributing factor, according to the medical examiner’s office. Her death was ruled an accident.
