A Chicago Police offer shot and killed a dog Thursday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

About 2:30 p.m., the officer shot the dog during the execution of a search warrant in the 4800 block of West Gladys, according to Chicago Police.

The dog was killed, police said.
