State child welfare officials are investigating Sunday’s death of a 27-day-old boy in south suburban Harvey.

The boy was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. at his home in the 15200 block of Paulina Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Autopsy results were pending further investigation.

DCFS is investigating allegations of neglect and has had prior contact with the family, agency spokeswoman Alissandra Calderon said.

Harvey police did not immediately respond to a call for information Monday.
