Divvy station opens at U.S. Cellular Field ahead of Crosstown

South Siders hoping to ride a Divvy bike to the Crosstown Classic this week are in luck–a new station has opened at U.S. Cellular Field in the Bridgeport neighborhood.

The bike-sharing station recently opened at 35th and Wentworth, one of 85 new stations installed in the city in the last two months, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Divvy is offering valet service for all four games in the Crosstown series, two each on the South Side and the North Side. Attendants will ensure that Divvy riders have a guaranteed dock available. The valet service will be available:

• 6-11 p.m. Monday at 35th and Wentworth;
• 5-10 p.m. Tuesday at 35th and Wentworth;
• 6-11 p.m. Wednesday at Sheffield and Addison; and
• 6-11 p.m. Thursday at Sheffield and Addison.

CDOT recently installed new curb-protected bike lanes on 31st Street from Michigan to LaSalle through the IIT campus. There are also protected bike lanes on Halsted and King Drive near U.S. Cellular Field.

“This week, all eyes in Chicago will be on the great Crosstown Classic rivalry between the White Sox and Cubs, so we are very excited to announce a new Divvy station on the South Side right outside the home of the White Sox,” Mayor Emanuel said in a statement.
