Emergency pavement repairs will prompt the closing of some lanes of I-190 on the Northwest Side starting Friday night, possibly snarling traffic into O’Hare.

Closures will take place on westbound I-190 at Mannheim Road, beginning at 11:59 p.m. Friday, weather permitting, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Two right lanes will be closed at Mannheim along with the ramp from westbound I-190 to northbound Mannheim. Everything should reopen by 10 a.m. Saturday.

The work zone will affect travel into O’Hare International Airport, and drivers should expect delays and allow extra time.
