Erie Street will close between LaSalle and Wells streets this weekend so a tower crane can be removed on the Near North Side.

The street will reopen once the crane is removed, the Chicago Department of Transportation said Thursday.

Vehicle and bicycle traffic can use Superior Street or Chicago Avenue to travel east, and pedestrians will have access to a sidewalk on Erie throughout the weekend, CDOT said.
