Farmers markets take the goodies indoors

In the old days, the last farmers market of the season meant no or little eaccess to all the goodies those markets held.

But these days, once the outdoor markets shut down indoor versions begin. True, there aren’t as many and some are not as often, but we’ve still got some options. They include:

Glenwood Sunday Market. It’ll be in operation from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. once a month starting this Sunday (Nov. 8) at the Glenwood Bar, 6962 N. Glenwood. Mark down the future dates: Dec. 13, Jan. 10, Feb. 14, March 13, April 10 and May 15.

Green City Market. It moves to the Peggy Notebaert Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Dr. and you can shop between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. This month on Saturdays it will be operating this Saturday (Nov. 7), Nov. 14 and Nov. 21. And for your Thanksgiving meal supplies, it’ll be open the Wednesday before (Nov. 25) Turkey Day.

After that, it’s Saturdays only: Dec. 5 and 19; Jan. 9 and 23; Feb. 6 and 20; March 5 and 19; April 2, 16 and 30.

Logan Square Farmers Market. This one’s already in operation and will continue from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. every Sunday (except Nov. 29) through March 20. Find it at 2755 N. Milwaukee Avenue (at Spaulding).

The 61st Street Farmers Market. The market is in operation from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturdays through April at the Experimental Station, 6100 S. Blackstone.

Also:

Evanston Ecology Center Indoor Market will operate Saturdays from Dec. 5 until April 30 at the center, 2024 W. McCormack in the suburb. Hours will be 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
