A body was pulled from Lake Michigan Friday morning near 31st Street Beach on the South Side, officials said.

The person was discovered about 9 a.m. in the water near 31st Street, according to Chicago Fire Media.

The body was recovered, but the person was dead at the scene, Chicago Fire Media said.

Additional details were not immediately available.
