Five Aurora men have been charged with multiple robberies occurring between late 2015 and early 2016 in southwest suburban Oswego.
D’Angelo M. Williams, 20, of the 700 block of Liberty Street, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of robbery and one count of aggravated battery, according to a joint statement from Kendall County sheriff’s office and Oswego police.
Christian Vega, 20, of the 600 block of South Lincoln Avenue, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and two counts of aggravated battery, police said. Milan T. Thomas, 22, of the 700 block of Liberty Street, was charged with two counts of armed robbery.
Andres M. Fonseca, 21, of the 600 block of North Glenwood Place, was charged with one count of robbery and one count of aggravated battery. Stephawn A. Johnson, 21, of the 600 block South Lincoln Avenue, was charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of aggravated robbery.
Police said Vega acted as the getaway driver in four robberies, helping the other four men rob two stores and a female.
On November 25, 2015, Vega drove Johnson near a home in the 200 block of Willington Way in Oswego and waited while Johnson pushed and punched a female resident before unsuccessfully trying to take her purse, police said. Vega then drove Johnson away from the scene.
On December 22, 2015, Vega drove Williams and Thomas to the Gas Mart USA in the 2500 block of Light Road in Oswego, authorities said. Williams and Thomas entered the store with a handgun and took cash and cigarettes before the three men left in Vega’s vehicle, police said.
On December 31, 2015, Vega drove Williams and Thomas to the Marathon Gas Station in the 0-100 block of Boulder Hill Pass in Oswego, where Williams and Thomas entered the gas station with a screwdriver and took cash before one of them assaulted the clerk with a wine bottle, police said. The three men then left in Vega’s vehicle.
On January 29, 2016, Vega allegedly drove Fonseca and Williams to the same female victim’s home in the 200 Block of Willington Way in Oswego, where Fonseca and Williams pushed the female down and took her purse, authorities said. The three then left in Vega’s vehicle.
Williams is being held on $200,000 bond at the Will County Jail, police said. Thomas, Fonseca and Johnson are each being held on $100,000 bond at the Kane County Jail.
Vega is still at-large but “is expected to be in custody shortly,” police said.
