A railroad crossing in south suburban Harvey will remain closed for track repairs until early next month.

Park Avenue was closed Monday at the railroad crossing north of 153rd Street in Harvey to allow crews to make repairs to the CSX railroad tracks, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The road will remain closed at the crossing until Oct. 3.

A posted detour will redirect Park Avenue traffic along 159th Street and Halsted Street/Vincennes Road, IDOT said. Drivers should expect delays and allow additional travel time.
