(KANKAKEE) A southwest suburban man was found dead in the hunting area of a state park Tuesday afternoon in downstate Kankakee.

A hunter found the body of Raymond E. Sims, 58, of Joliet in a hunting area at Kankakee River State Park off Route 113 about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from Illinois State Police.

State police are conducting a death investigation along with the Kankakee County coroner’s office.
