(AURORA) A kitchen fire at a Burger King restaurant in west suburban Aurora caused $30,000 in damages Monday night.

Firefighters arrived at the Burger King in the 2800 block of East New York Street at 6:45 p.m. and found heavy smoke in the rear of the restaurant, according to a statement from the Aurora Fire Department.

A fryer fire was quickly put out with dry chemical extinguishers and contained to the kitchen, according to the department.

No one was hurt in the blaze. Damages to the restaurant are estimated at $30,000, according to the fire department.
