Lane closures begin Wednesday near a Dunning neighborhood intersection on the Northwest Side.

Beginning Wednesday, daily lane closures will happen on Irving Park Road and Harlem Avenue to install new traffic signals near the intersection, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Motorists should expect delays and pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, IDOT said. The project is expected to be completed in the fall and disruption to businesses should be minimal.

In addition to new traffic signals, the project will also replace the concrete foundation and install ADA-compliant walkways and ramps, IDOT said.
