Normal Loop L service resumes

Normal train service has resumed in the Loop after weekend construction reroutes on a new L station lasted about two hours longer than expected.

Orange, Green, Pink and Brown lines trains were being detoured from Lake and Wabash in the Loop to Wells and Van Buren, according to the CTA.

Those reroutes started at 10 p.m. Friday for work on the new Washington/Wabash station and were supposed to end at 4 a.m. Monday. That was pushed back to about 6 a.m., when the CTA announced normal service had resumed.

Orange and Brown Line trains were running as one route between Kimball and Midway via Wells and Van Buren. Green and Pink Line trains were running through Wells and Van Buren. Pink Line trains were beginning and ending their trips at the Roosevelt Station, according to the CTA.

The same closures were scheduled for next weekend as well.
