A 30-year-old man was shot Friday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened at 4:16 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 49th, according to Chicago Police. The man was shot in the arm and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

Additional details about the shooting were not immediately available.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
