A man and woman were struck by a vehicle Saturday night in northwest suburban Streamwood.

The couple was walking in the median on Irving Park Road when they were struck by a vehicle turning westbound onto Irving Park from McKool Avenue about 9:50 p.m., according to a statement from Streamwood police.

The 36-year-old Streamwood man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with head injuries and remains in serious condition, according to police.

The 32-year-old Streamwood woman was taken to Saint Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where she is also being treated for head injuries, police said.

The 21-year-old driver and her 19-year-old passenger were not injured, police said.

The Serious Traffic Crash Reconstruction team is investigating.
