Bond was set at $500,000 Friday for a Bridgeport man charged with choking a woman who was jogging last weekend in River North.

Carl Freeman, 34, faces two felony counts of aggravated battery for the Sept. 10 attack in the 200 block of West Kinzie, according to Chicago Police.

Just before 6 a.m., Freeman walked up from behind the 25-year-old woman, grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground, police allege. He ran away when a passerby saw what was happening and the woman yelled, police said.

Freeman, of the 3200 block of South Halsted, was arrested Thursday. A judge ordered him held on a $500,000 bond, and he is due in court again Sept. 22, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
