Bond was denied Thursday for a man accused of a shooting that left another man critically wounded last month in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side.

Nickolas Burch, 27, was charged with felony counts of armed robbery and aggravated battery with a firearm, as well as two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, according to Chicago Police.

About 8:35 p.m. Aug. 1, witnesses heard gunfire and found another 27-year-old man in an alley in the 3200 block of North Racine with a gunshot wound to the left side of the neck, police said. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.

Burch, who lives in the 300 block of South Oakley, was arrested Wednesday. Details on the charges of battery to a police officer were not disclosed.

A judge ordered Burch held without bond Thursday, according to Cook County Circuit Court records. He is due back in court Sept. 28.
