A West Side man is facing federal weapons charges for selling handguns and ammunition out of his North Lawndale neighborhood home.

Jymil Campbell, 29, was arrested Thursday and later charged with one count of selling firearms without a license, according to a statement from the U.S. attorney’s office. He lives in the 2100 block of South Millard.

He allegedly sold three pistols, five magazines – one of which was an extended magazine – and ammunition to an informant for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for $2,300, prosecutors said. He sold two of the guns in March and the third in May.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, prosecutors said. He is being detained until his initial court date at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 30.
