A man has been charged with stabbing and critically wounding another man during a fight over a woman in a west suburban bar Tuesday night.

Michael W. Moser-Booth, 35, was charged with one count of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated battery, according to a statement from Aurora police.

A few minutes before midnight Tuesday, Moser-Booth entered O’Malley’s Bar in the 700 block of Hill Avenue in Aurora and confronted a man who was with a group of people, including a woman both men knew, police said.

An argument broke out over the woman and Moser-Booth took out a knife, threatened to kill the man, then stabbed him in the neck, police said.

Moser-Booth ran from the bar after the stabbing, but was tackled in the parking lot by an off-duty Aurora police officer who witnessed the attack, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene and took Moser-Booth into custody, who was still holding the knife used in the attack, police said.

The victim was taken to an Aurora hospital in critical condition, though he is expected to survive, police said.

Moser-Booth, of the 2300 block of Goldenrod Court in Aurora, was ordered held on a $150,000 bond in court Thursday, police said. He is being held at the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles.
