A man has been charged with injuring two women in a hit-and-run crash more than two weeks ago in the North Side Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Brenton Holston, 24, faces four counts of leaving the scene of a crash causing great bodily harm and two counts of aggravated reckless driving, all felonies, according to Chicago Police and Cook County court records.

At 8:07 p.m. Sept. 23, the two women — 24 and 34 — were walking in the street headed west in the 1800 block of North Clybourn when a black Acura sedan struck them, police said. The driver then made a U-turn in the middle of Clybourn and struck them both again.

The 24-year-old suffered a broken hip and injuries to her abdomen, back and buttock that were described as life-threatening, police said. She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The 34-year-old suffered injuries to her head and was also taken to Northwestern in serious condition, police said.

Holston, of the 2300 block of North Ashland, also faces charges of restricting/obstructing a peace officer and escaping a peace officer, according to police.

He was arrested Sept. 30 ordered held without bond on Oct. 1, according to court records.

The Major Accidents Investigation Unit handled the case.
