A 34-year-old man who was fatally shot early Sunday during an argument in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood has been identified.

Octavius Hudson was arguing with someone who pulled a gun and fired at him in the 4700 block of West Polk at 1:13 a.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Hudson suffered a gunshot wound to his chest, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the 300 block of North Lockwood.
