Man wounded in Roseland shooting

A man was shot Monday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 33-year-old was driving east on 102nd Street from Indiana Avenue at 1:46 p.m. when someone in a silver vehicle started shooting at him, according to Chicago Police. When the victim pulled up to the intersection of 102nd and Calumet, the silver vehicle pulled up alongside him and the shooter opened fire a second time.

The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and drove himself to the 10100 block of South Vernon to seek assistance, police said. An acquaintance then drove him to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, where he was initially listed in critical condition.

He was later transferred to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
