A 32-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Keith Jackson was driving in the 2000 block of West 68th Place about 1:30 p.m. when someone on foot opened fire on his vehicle, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jackson, of the 5900 block of South Sangamon, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08 p.m., authorities said. He died of a gunshot wound to the neck and his death was ruled a homicide.

A police source said he was a documented gang member.

In May, three people were shot on the same block. A month before that, two people were killed and three more wounded in another attack nearby.
