A man died after he was shot Tuesday afternoon in Englewood on the South Side.

Julius Coleman, 18, was on the street after getting dropped off from a vehicle at 2:07 p.m. in the 5600 block of South May when someone inside a passing blue vehicle began shooting, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Coleman, of the 6000 block of South Green, was shot in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead at 2:56 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

Police initially said he was 18.
