A man was shot early Wednesday in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 22-year-old was standing on the sidewalk at 12:09 a.m. in the 10400 block of South Green when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
