A man was shot dead in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 1:52 p.m., the 37-year-old man was with a group when someone opened fire across the the street in the 3800 block of West Adams, according to Chicago Police. The shooter ran away southbound.

Rickey J. King, of the 8800 block of South Burley, was shot in the head and pronounced at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Burley was a documented gang member, a police source said.
