A 30-year-old man shot and killed at an Austin neighborhood gas station early Thursday has been identified.

He was outside the station in the 100 block of South Cicero about 2 a.m. when someone walked up and shot him multiple times, police said.

James White, 30, was unresponsive when paramedics arrived and was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Friday found that White, of the 100 block of North Kostner, died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
