A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Friday evening in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 30-year-old was standing in an alley at 5:24 p.m. in the 5400 block of South May when a male walked up to him and fired shots, Chicago Police said.

He was struck in his arms and abdomen and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

The gunman got into a white vehicle after the shooting and drove away, police said.
