A 20-year-old man was shot Friday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

He was walking just after 2 p.m. in the 300 block of South Hamlin when someone inside a passing light colored vehicle fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the abdomen and taken in serious condition Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
