A man died Tuesday evening, three days after he was shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Alvonta Pinex, 27, got into an argument with another male at 2:24 a.m. Saturday in the 7200 block of South Aberdeen when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Pinex suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 5:39 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said. He lived in the 14100 block of South Tracy Avenue in Riverdale.

As of Wednesday morning, no one was in custody in connection with the shooting, as Area South detectives investigate, police said.
