A 19-year-old man died after being wounded in a shooting Saturday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Someone walked up to Quinton Flowers at 1:06 p.m. in the 5400 block of West Cortez and shot him in the chest and body, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Flowers, who lived in the same block, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 7:42 p.m., police and the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy Monday found he died of a massive internal hemorrhage after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
