A man who was shot while driving Wednesday afternoon in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side has been identified as Miguel A. Ramirez.

The 23-year-old was driving at 2:53 p.m. in the 3200 block of West 64th Street when someone on the street opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the head, and crashed his vehicle into a stop sign at 64th Place and Kedzie, where the vehicle flipped over, police said.

Ramirez, of the 5200 block of South Campbell, was taken to Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide.
