A man was shot and critically wounded Thursday evening in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 24-year-old was standing outside of a residence at 8:38 p.m. in the 2800 block of West 25th Place when he was shot in the neck , according to Chicago Police.

He took himself to Saint Anthony Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
