A man was shot and critically wounded Saturday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The 32-year-old was standing on the sidewalk at 11:03 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Eberhart when shots rang out, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and thigh and drove to the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. He was later transferred in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
