A man was shot Tuesday night during an attempted robbery in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 40-year-old was walking at 11:43 p.m. in the 900 block of West 127th Street when a male walked up and announced a robbery, according to Chicago Police. The suspect didn’t steal anything, but fired shots before running away.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
