Man shot in Lawndale

A 62-year-old man was shot Saturday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

About 8:35 p.m., the man was walking on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of South Tripp when a male fired shots in his direction, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the left armpit and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
