$400K bond for man charged with South Chicago shooting

Bond was set at $400,000 Friday for a man charged with a South Chicago neighborhood shooting last week on the South Side.

George Anderson, 30, faces a felony count of of aggravated battery with a firearm for the attack that happened about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 7900 block of South Saginaw, according to Chicago Police.

A 25-year-old man walked out of a store and was walking south when someone got out of a vehicle nearby and fired shots, hitting him in the left leg, police said. The shooter then got back in the vehicle and took off.

The victim was taken in good condition to South Shore Hospital.

Anderson, of the 7800 block of South Coles, was arrested soon after the shooting. A judge set bond at $400,000 at a Friday hearing, and he is due in court again Tuesday, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
