A man was shot Thursday afternoon in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Sometime between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., the 19-year-old was walking in the 5300 block of West Cuyler when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the left arm, according to Chicago Police.

He walked into Community First Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
