A man was shot early Sunday in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 29-year-old showed up at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park about 4:15 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

He told investigators he’d been sitting inside a vehicle in the 300 block of North Pine when someone walked up and opened fire. He was otherwise uncooperative and later left the hospital, police said.

The shooting was thought to be gang-related.
