A man was shot Tuesday evening in the West Englewood neighborhood.

The 29-year-old was walking in the 6600 block of South Ashland about 6:50 p.m. when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. His condition was stabilized, and he was later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital.
