Man shot on South Side

A man was shot Thursday evening in the South Side Oakland neighborhood.

The 35-year-old was in a vehicle with another man about 5:45 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Langley when they got into an argument and the other man pulled out a gun, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

During a struggle for the gun, it went off, striking the 35-year-old in the hip, Sweeney said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition, police said. The alleged shooter drove away.
