Police are looking for a man suspected of stealing 16 cartons of cigarettes from a northwest Indiana gas station since April.

The first incident occurred April 21 at the Speedway station at 444 Ridge Rd. in Munster, Indiana, according to Munster police. The man stole 10 cartons of cigarettes from the station’s back room before driving away in a gold-colored vehicle.

He went into the back room of the same gas station on June 24 and took six cartons of cigarettes, police said. This time, an employee confronted him and he threatened to stab the employee. He left the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white man between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet, with a skinny build, beard and “possibly no teeth,” police said.

Anyone with information should call Det. Tim Nosich at (219) 836-6658 or tnosich@munster.org.
