A man and a woman were stabbed to death Thursday in south suburban Posen.

Rosemary Bonert, 61, and 41-year-old John W. Bonert both suffered stab wounds in the 14900 block of Richmond Avenue in Posen, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. They lived in the same block.

Rosemary Bonert was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial hospital in Harvey at 8:54 p.m. Thursday, the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy found she died from multiple stab wounds and her death was ruled a homicide.

John Bonert was pronounced dead at 9:13 p.m. Thursday, according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy found he died from multiple sharp-force injuries and his death was ruled a suicide.

Posen police could not immediately be reached for further details about the deaths.
