A man was wounded Monday night in an Avalon Park neighborhood shooting on the South Side.

The 21-year-old man was walking down the street just after 8 p.m. in the 8100 block of South Blackstone when a male emerged from a nearby gangway and fired shots at the him, according to Chicago Police.

The man was struck in the right arm and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, police said.
