A man was shot to death in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood Sunday night on the South Side.

Arthur Sanchezz, 51, was standing outside about 8:55 p.m. on a corner in the 2000 block of South Leavitt when two males in a Chevrolet vehicle shouted gang slogans, then fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Sanchez was struck in the chest and both arms and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:32 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the same neighborhood as the shooting.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
